GeForce Beyond: A Special Broadcast 9/20/2022 (Live Soon)

This is probably going to be a routine showcase for the 4000 line. But in the medium-term I think Nvidia needs an x86 partner to compete in high performance mobile chipsets. Might have to be the lesser known Via brand.

hardware looks great, and at least they are consistent with the price.

but think about what games they had to use to demonstrate it.

Another nVidia produced/sponsered demo that is almost certainly not a full game

And they had to return back to Cyberpunk, a 2020, to show off ray-tracing.

And then they sponsered a mod team to update Portal, a 2007 game.

And Morrowind, which actually might be the most exciting announcement.

Anything interesting so far? Not able to watch the stream atm.

2x raster of 3080ti and 4x the RT performance.

DLSS3 announced.. uses optical flow to generate entire frames.

Power-wise it's insane... but so is the price.

Getting the 4080. I haven't decided if I'm getting the 12GB or 16GB yet.

Will have to wait and see benchmarks before I pull the trigger.  I'm just happy they are launching this year and not next year like early rumors suggested.

you're going to have the 16GB if you actually want a real 4080

The 12GB version appears to be a 4070 in disguise.

Even for nVidia, that's pretty scummy. The real 4080 cost $1200

Yea, it's looking like that. Still waiting to see benchmarks before I make my final decision.

This shit is overpriced.

It is extremely overpriced but I knew this was coming. All the rumors were correct.

Fuck Nvidia. if I didn't need a new PC badly this year I probably wouldn't patronize them.
