Voidler 1,642
What a shame that Lemmings not buying or playing games has caused this outcome. https://www.trueachievements.com/n52956/shinji-mikami-leaving-tango-gameworks Things will be much better for him once he is away from the toxic low effort Xbox development culture and making games for PlayStation and Nintendo again
jehurey 2,754
That studio is now stone-cold, dead in the water. Somebody bought him, to make a video game for another studio. Maybe even Capcom. And wherever he's going, other best members of Tango Gameworks are going to follow him there, so that studio will absolutely be dead. Outside of Todd Howard, that guy is probably the most accomplished game maker that has made some of the biggest selling games. Xbox just lost the second-biggest name in their entire portfolio. sugarhigh 335
I doubt this is because of poor hifi Rush sales. MS is gonna torch a lot of the studios they bought. More likely Mikami is standing down so that Hifi Rush's American creator can convince MS not to close Tango entirely. In a nutshell MS bought Bethesda to get Starfield exclusive. MS is trying to buy Activision to get Call of Duty. All other personnel in these deals could get the axe.
Saucer 419
Huh I wonder what's really going on. My guess is he wants to make games for the Japanese market again.
Twinblade★ 3,288
Lol this thread is ridiculous. He's been there 12 years, maybe he decided that he wanted to pursue something new either within or outside the games industry. I do wish he had stayed on until Evil Within 3 was done. Oh well, im sure that game will still be great.
Saucer 419
When he started Tango, he said he wanted to make a platformer starring a cockroach but that got nixed for all the obvious reasons. So who knows...
Jerrys Hair Line 984
Vaughn called Hi-Fi Rush "one of the most successful launches for Bethesda and Xbox in recent years," adding that the rhythm-based action game has "generated significant positive momentum for the business and Tango." Cows desperate for attention

jehurey 2,754
Mikami made a deal with Nintendo, and during a 5 year period he delivered: RE0 Remake P.N.03 And the greatest fucking videogame of all-time Mikami then helped set-up his own side-studio in coordination with Capcom, and he helped direct or oversee: God Hand Okami Viewtiful Joe Mikami then left to join a studio called Seeds, which would end up becoming Platinum Games, and during his time there, make: Vanquish He then set up his own studio, Tango Gameworks, in 2010, funded by Zenimax, and makes: Shadows of the Damned The Evil Within The Evil Within 2 And when Zenimax gets bought by Microsoft, his last two projects are: Ghostwire Tokyo, which was a Playstation timed exclusive Hi-Fi Rush That is what Microsoft got from one of the most prolific and "money" video game makers of all-time, during the time they employed him.
