Pretty much. People hate the two party system but it's more realistic to move within them than try to prop up a third party on a national scale. The more parties you have the smaller the majority vote becomes. If you have 3 to 4 parties you can end up with Presidents with as little as 30% of the popular vote, we'd have to get rid of the electoral college. I wouldn't mind that to be fair.

State and local government is where concern comes into effect. Take my state for example. We're in complete violation of the second amendment at not only the federal level, but also in total violation of our states constitution.

 

That is the real problem, this shit gets dusted under the rug and takes years to undo, sometimes decades because the Supreme Court won't touch these cases until every lower level option has been exhausted.
