Every single tech item has that market and all the markets have a model that does well. This will do exactly what they expect, which is about 1 in every 5 sales plus they'll get to double up on ppl who already bought a PS5. In fact more so because everyone thought this first mid gen upgrade was going to fragment the community and future games. It's not meant to sell to the masses, you already have the regular Mercedes for everyone else, it doesn't stop Mercedes from making a more expensive and faster version for hardcore car nuts like myself who like more performance. It's the same thing here with the Pro, it's not rocket science. You're overthinking this. If Sony was that concerned about selling the PS5 Pro they'd eat the cost like they did with the regular PS5 at launch. They aren't doing that because they already have the PS5 that sells to the masses. Your PSVR2 example doesn't make any sense at all since the PSVR2 is just one device and doesn't have different tiers. i don't know why you brought that up. It would make sense if there were two tiers of PSVR2 but there's only one and it selling or not selling has nothing to do with the PS5 Pro being targeted to a small subset of hardcore PS fans that want more performance from their console. I agree you bet longevity when paying a $1000 for a 4080, but you also don’t have to fuck with shitty PosC ports and catering to a much wider crowd of the PosC market. PS5 Pro and PS5 are steady spec units with none of the bullshit. You PosC fucks need to start thinking about how little your overall market is compared to consoles.
