The true problem in the gaming industry no one talks about.

Didn't watch but how is this new in any way? As if this hasn't been happening for decades in the gaming industry.

AAA business model is the only thing dying right now. Everyone else is doing better than they ever did.

The market has never been this good, far easier to make money now and reach out consumers than it was back during eras where only big marketed games stayed long enough in the stores shelves to actually sell well. Publishers were basically fighting for retail space. Digital games taking over has completely changed the market. Also pretty much eliminated the used video games market.

AAA budget games are dying because gamers are getting sick of the "style over substance"

right now, gameplay is king. fancy visuals are not enough. the indie scene is proof of this, since the devs can deliver stellar gameplay at a much smaller budget.

I agree to some degree but gameplay alone won't save gaming, people also want some spectacle. The indy market is good and all but it can feel derivative of many games we're already familiar with and each other tbh.
