GG next game is Horizon Online - next sp game A LONG WAYS OFF

:tom: Sony fucking SUCKS

Jason Schreier: And their plan...I mean, Horizon Online is their next product, not the third single-player game, looks like. So, that one may be waaays off.

SpawnWave: Uuh, ok...

Jason Schreier: Yeah, I mean like, Sony-PlayStation's like live service initiative was no joke, everybody was like...it's live service games all around. Horizon is one of the few ones that hasn't been canceled or hasn't come out and flopped the way Concord did and so...yeah, a lot of questions. A lot of people are working on that.

Ugh.. such a talented team on a technical level and they're stuck in this Horizon rut..  And that Online shit will be PS5 and PC day 1..  so again it just goes to show you how much PC played/plays a role in Playstation's future.  Literally all of their studios were working on either huge GaaS games, or games with big online components to them, which only make sense to make multiplatform.

Sony really went balls deep on GaaS but their stroke game is weak so they had to pull out :hehe:

Seems they aren't gonna stop with GAAS .

What a failure Sony has been this gen. Hopefully they turn it around for ps6

Even I'm shocked at how hard they planned to push into GaaS.  It's like they wanted to take all of their studios and IPs and switch them into online games all at once.  What an insane thing to do.  I think the budgets for their SP games are simply getting too high and too risky for them that Sony aren't willing to put that much more into it.. so they realize and worry that their production values might stagnate a bit.  Sony fans expect their games to have the best visuals.. so anything less would leave them disappointed.

Isn't this going to be a Monster Hunter like? At least this will be fun as a single player mode.

This is why Sony did this. It's cheap and easy . Clone X game and the garbage fan base will still defend it.  I doubt they were expecting the fanbase to not buy the trash though .

Horizon Online might flop but unlike Concord Fairgames it has potential. Those were always going to be garbage.

I think there's SOME potential to an online Horizon game that has elements of Monster Hunter to it... but the reality is, that as decent as these games are... they're getting boring.. and I think people are beginning to have enough of them.  You had the flop of a VR experience, and now remastering old versions..  People are getting worn out, I think.

Don't forget the lego game.  Sony fucked up and now they are rushing franchise fatigue as fast as they possibly can

Oh yea that's right :D  I knew there was something I was missing lol.

IP is massively over done at this point but turning Horizon into basically Mech Monster Hunter is actually the coolest live service ideas to an existing franchise that Sony could have. Would much prefer that than Horizon 3 tbh.

I'd obvs prefer a new Killzone or new IP over either but this one is far from bad. Has got some potential.

I only got like 6 hours into the sequel and dropped it. And I was a fan of the first game. However, I realized I was fine with Horizon just being a single game, I didn't need it to be a series.

I have no interest in this.
