  1. Master Quest isn't that much more of a challenge, it's just a matter of adjusting to the new Dungeons.

    It has more enemies IIRC.

Still by far the best Zelda.

The storyline is probably the most engaging, but it's still not far and away the best 3D zelda (shouldn't be compared to 2D IMO).

MM has more things to do, sidequests, character interaction etc. Plus the dungeons are tougher, longer.

WW has a much bigger world with more things to find.

TP has better dungeons, straight up.

SS has more interesting dungeon mechanics, mainly due to the timeshift stones. Plus the combat is deeper.

OoT does almost everything right but the sequels do at least one thing better. That being said OoT is still amazing but it's not way ahead of the others anymore.

Agreed that every Zelda does some things better, but they also do some things worse. OoT I think is the most complete and the pinnacle of the series. I hope they make MM for the 3DS like they did for OoT. I'd love to play through it again as I only played it once, and I don't feel like hooking my N64 up to play through it.

  2. I bought Ocarina 3D on Sunday because I haven't played it before and when you buy a new system you'll buy just about anything.

This past year I've played/replayed Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, A Link to the Past, and now Ocarina (I don't know why I'm on a Zelda kick lately), and I have to say I think Ocarina is by far the weakest of the batch so far (I'm on the third dungeon). It's not just looks (Ocarina 3D is usually pretty homely), but with how empty Hyrule is and how random the logic of the puzzles often is. Like I just did the stuff leading up to the third dungeon. The mermen's king says his daughter is missing but that's it. To find her you have to beat a minigame to get a fish scale that allows you to dive deeper and reach an underwater door that leads to lake where there's a message in a bottle from the king's daughter. I avoid minigames on principle because the standard convention in games is that they're optional. Nowhere is there any hint saying do the minigame. So I'm going around and around in circles until I try the minigame as a last resort. Not good.

I can't help but feel the exact opposite way. I bought OoT3D, beat it quickly and was still amazed, just beat Skyward Sword yesterday, and have just started playing through OoT Master Quest (Holy Shit is it different and harder). OoT seemed to be so much more epic, you had the kokiri forrest town, Death Mountain town the zoras, gorons, gerudos, lon lon ranch, and of course the Hyrule Castle and all it's inhabitants. IMO it still looks good, sure not homely, and the story is timeless. Still by far the best Zelda.

  3. Of the two, which did you enjoy more. Sailing in WW or flying in SS? Personally I thought sailing was awesome.

    sailing is awesome

Defiantly sailing, sailing seemed relaxing and the music during the day and quiet at night set a nice ambiance. That and it was fun exploring the various islands and even using the grappling hook to find treasure. Flying seemed like a chore and was pretty baron.

  4. Just beat Skyward Sword... 50 hours. Amazing game, one of the best this gen. However I don't think it was close to the best Zelda game. Fi sucked even compared to Medina, The Red Dragon, and even Navi. Didn't seem to have any personality. Flying sucked compared to Epona and even sailing. Besides the bug the items weren't that great. And the overworld didn't seem as expansive. I also wasn't a fan of Ghiraham as he seemed too japanophiled. The overall gameplay was amazing though, the dungeons, puzzles, and motion control, some of the NPCs were memorable. I hope the next Zelda returns to the land, horse riding, traditional control, and amazing graphics like the previous Zeldas.

  5. I couldn't finish God of War 3, ended up returning it. It just felt so stale and the mindless button mashing gets boring after a few hours.

I loved GoW3... beat it twice... of course the second time was with all the upgrades so I just breezed through it. Such amazing graphics and it's one of the best beat-em-ups ever.

about 13:40 into Zelda SS... game is still amazing. The puzzles are great and love the use of the new bug item.. also really like how getting to the temples are pretty much temples themselves.

    3rd temple B)

Pretty cool getting there. Interesting use of the time mechanic.

Just beat the 3rd temple. 15 or 16 hours.... so far it's so amazing, I really can't see how GS bashed the controls or said it's not fresh.... starting to wonder if that jackass just played TP again :|

  6. Just got my pre-ordered version of Zelda SS finally :rage:

Anyway, played for over two hours just running around Skyloft getting everything together. Just practicing with the sword and using it a little feels great. My only complaint so far is that they didn't need to make Link look like such a fag.

Did you get the gold remote? Is it gold like the Goldeneye controller?

Yeah, the $70 bundle or whatever it was with the gold Wiimote and CD.

Is it gold like the goldeneye controller? Do they match?

    What GE controller?

    Posted Image

LUL No. It's disgusting that EA or whoever has the Bond rights is always trying to milk the N64 Goldeneye 007 with half assed games trying to fool people.

  9. A few days ago I was at Gamecraze at they had BF3 playing.... went again tonight and they had MW3. I've never been a fan of military shooters and only played a little of CoD4 and some Black Ops at a friends for a short time.... but the 15-20 minutes I spent playing BF3 and MW3... MW3 was so much more fun. The gameplay/controls/atmosphere were just so much better. I actually want to buy MW3 after skipping so many annual rehashes.

  10. Halo 2 was definitely the most influential game for console online gaming. (And even modern PC gaming for a lot of games)

It introduced the matchmaking system and had a well put together party system. Both have become standard in console online.

The game was absolutely amazing. I remember staying up until the sun came up playing online with friends in the same room and online. Some of the best levels in the series as well as great weapons and vehicles. The other games in the series have fucked up some of the great parts of Halo 2... such as sword clashing which sucks dick, the rocket launcher doesn't lock onto vehicles like it used to, when they re-did blood gulch / coagulation they didn't have 3 tiered bases with the banshee. Halo Reach has a great multiplayer, but Halo 2 is still the king. Too bad Halo 2 only had the veto system and not a pick one from 3 like HR.

  11. Got a few more chapters left in Uncharted 2, game is amazing. Have to complete Read Dead Redemption on my PS3 afterwards. Madden is coming and I'm still playing Halo Reach with friends from time to time. Laundry list of games I need to buy, and with all this talk of Darksiders I really need to pick that up. All I see are good things from people with similar taste in games.

i must warn you, the first hour and a half of darksiders isn't that good. however, once you hit the first dungeon, it gets fun!

I got through the first couple hours of Twilight Princess shouldn't be a problem if I do ever get around to playing it.

And no Truno-gay, I bought it just to have it.

  13. I've had Lair since I got my Motorstorm bundled PS3 in like 2007? (came with it, not like I bought it).... was bored and decided to try it out tonight... fucking awful. Also tried the Resistance FoM demo.... awful.

didn't lair get a patch that made it playable.

He would know if he actually played it.

You're right, I made it up to bash Lair years after in released... :|

Jesus christ you're one gigantic faggot
