So Activision went looking for a buyer, but nobody other than MS wanted them? And Activision wanted anyone other than MS to buy them?

This is like when a 4/10 woman is being pursued by the balding, obese Star Trek nerd, and she's trying to flirt with all the chads but none of them want her so out of fear of being alone she relents and hooks up with the loser that stinks of body odour :tom:

    they're already too late.

    That's literally the dumbest argument.

That's like Microsoft waiting to give Apple and Google a 2-3 headstart on Smartphones, and waiting until 2010 to release the Zune.

If you're trying to takeover an industry............you don't "wait"

Disagree..  MS can easily buy in to VR any time it pleases.

    Really?

Then how come they've failed to takeover these past 21 years?

They didn't happen to get around to it?

OH............are you saying they JUST DECIDED they wanted to takeover the entire gaming industry just a couple of years ago?

    is that your claim?

It took 20 years but it's happening now.  MS is a giant.. They are now worth a trillion.  They were powerful 20 years ago but now... .:really:

Better hope gamers have another $500 in their pocket, after they already spent their gaming money on a Playstation5 first.

And, what could REALLY fuck up Microsoft is if the PS5 developers end up finding out that they can convert their first-person games easily over to the new PSVR2, because Sony's dev tools allow that conversion to happen with very little additional work.

And suddenly, full priced retail games ill have VR versions on the PS5, and not the Xbox.

Xbox not having any VR solution is looking like its going to end up being a huge factor here during the back half of this console gen.

I already posted about the Tim Sweeney email that completely debunked him.

    Maybe try reading.

MS is waiting for VR to mature.. They will get involved don't you worry. When it's feasible and becomes standard MS will go all out as their doing with acquisitions right now.  Money is no object for MS.  They can buy in anytime.

  5. I've always maintained that MS's takeover of gaming can be done in many different ways.  When MS owns it all sony will need to depend on them in one way or another if they want to stay relevant.  They have now lost all games under Zenimax and Activision Blizzard.

Sony might end up in it's own niche corner if they decide not to participate in GamePass.  That's also okay.  They will hopefully continue to invest and bring out their own games in order to compete.

    Um.....you're probably quoting another lemming.

I mean, I don't think any lemming here should be listened to, because they're spewing dumbass shit about things they know nothing about.

And now you're changing your story no that I've had to skullfuck you with evidence that completely debunked your original theory.

    so you got nothing?

  7. 2 minutes ago, jehurey said:

    that's not going to happen.

And we have hard evidence that Microsoft wants to get INTO the playstation ecosystem.

During the Epic Games vs Apple lawsuit, there was a release of emails from Tim Sweeney''s email account.

One of them was a back and forth exchange between him and Phil Spencer, where Phil Spencer specifically said that he was "still trying" to get GamePass onto Sony and Nintendo platforms.

You're the idiot. We have complete proof of what Microsoft's trying to do.

That's also fine?  Didn't someone say earlier that Sony would never get Gamepass?  Well MS is going to force them to comply or be left out.  It's all there is.  MS will continue to collect.

No, its a huge detriment to the amount of revenue CoD used to be bringing in for whoever owns the IP.

Sweetie..............you do understand that people that already bought their PS5's are now past their store's 30-day return policy, right?

They're not going to be returning back their PS5's. They're going to keep playing it and buying games for it.

And this is another failure of Microsoft for buying properties, and their games are taking forever to come out. Once you enter the third year of a console gen, its pretty much too late to reverse the way things are going to play out.

The existing Call of Duty for 2022 is going to come out to Playstation, merely because this deal is going to take months to complete and get through federal regulators.

Do you know what happens when you buy a publisher for $70 Billion dollars.........and proceed to cut off about 60-70% of hardware platforms where they USED TO SELL their games on?

You now spent $70 Billion on something that is now worth much less.

Sweetie. Microsoft is doing this because they WANT to find a way into the Playstation ecosystem. Not because they're trying to REMOVE GAMES from the Playstation ecosystem.

I'm sorry but you're an idiot.  Why don't you stupid dipshits ever listen to me!  For instance, I've said a million times that MS's long term goal is to destroy playstation and get rid of them as competition.  They've finally started using their stockpile of funds to really put the boots to Sony and the playstation brand.  It's happening brother.  Long term goals is what this is about.  PS5 is here an now!  We want to talk about PS6 and PS7 and the next Xbox's.  Will COD still be favorite?  What will gamers do if playstation doesn't satisfy their need for COD and other Activision games?  Will they next time buy the Xbox instead of PS6?  MS is banking on it.  Small minds.

CoD is nowhere near the status they were 5 years ago.  They went free to play for a reason.

Its much easier for Sony to help build and cultivate a separate brand with another company.

COD has no more growth. Its the same players.

As long as the Respawn guys are still out there, out of Microsoft's control.......you shouldn't be so confident.

    Yes you do rent.

    Rent-a-Center.

You just got busted lying the moment Lynux embarassed you:hest:

Sony doesn't need to corner a market to try and force people ONTO their system.

People are coming to their system VOLUNTARILY, because they want to.

This is the thing you poor lemmings don't want to admit, out loud.

You're celebrating the fact that Phil Spencer is aware that nobody WANTS TO game on the Xbox platform, so he is trying to remove third-party developers from the free market.

And that's the pathetic part about all of this: $70 billion dollars were spent............and nothing new was created.

Sony ends up buying Insomniac, and we have a second Spider-man franchise, and now a Wolverine IP incoming. Something NEW was created in the video game space that didn't exist before.

Sony ends up buying Housemarque, and we now have Returnal, which earned several Game of the Year nominations, and we now have a former 2D developers upgrade to become an exciting new 3D action game developer...............something NEW was created that didn't exist before.

Microsoft spent $70 billion...........and there's a strong chance they're going to do some trimming to the existing Activision studios. They have three studios devoted to developing CoD in alternating years. I'm pretty sure they're going to remove one of those studios. (And you'll be defending that when it happens).

Isn't COD the game that sells most on PS?  Where will those players go to play the game in the future?  PS not having all these games is a huge detriment to their brand.  They lost everything from Zenimax and now Activision Blizzard.

  10. LAMO if sony bought Activision/Blizzard y'all would be shitting down Xbox's throat right now. :kaz: But obviously Sony doesn't have 70 billion in a warchest somewhere.  Sony in it's entirety is worth a little more than 100 billion?  No way they could afford a 70 billion dollar purchase.  I guess that's the difference between the two gaming behemoths that are MS and sony.  MS has over a trillion dollars to work with while sony is only worth a fraction of that.

Sony isn't paying a dime for GamePass.

And they are not going to allow a gaming subscription service run on their Playstation consoles, that THEY (Sony) are not in complete ownership of.

So, unless Microsoft gives Sony a significant cut of GamePass subscriptions that are played on Playstation consoles, the only way Sony will allow these Microsoft owned games is if they are developed natively and licensed as third-party retail games approved by Sony to sell for the Playstation.

Well I guess COD and other Blizzard Activision games will now be exclusive to Windows and Xbox.  No skin off MS's ass.  Gamers who want to play COD will have to go MS I suppose.  According to you since Sony will never implement gamepass on their console.. no biggie.

It's sony who needs something here not MS.  MS has all the goods now.
