AFAIK you'd have to beat the mines multiple times and give the guy at the end what he wants.

:ben: aaand im done with spelunky

lol yeah i don't have the patience for roguelikes anymore.

spelunky was fun for a few hours but i got bored shortly after reaching the 2nd world.

yea i got like 10 games installed , plus my ps3 etc. why the hell would i replay 1-2 hours of progress every time i die? lol in the time i would progress in spelunky i would have finished 1-2 other games that i like way more.

the only roguelike i would play is a zangband TK with modern graphics, open world, tons of depth so that every playthrough is never the same etc.

its the reason i stopped playing FTL too, whats the point of doing the same exact thing? if it was completely open world i wouldnt mind dying and restarting but its a corridor of jumps with generic encounters.

roguelikes need a fuckton of depth , cant lower my standards to enjoy them as much as others :reg:

  2. Spelunky :smoke:

You won't always have to redo everything if you complete an area enough times you unlock "World 2" from the start.

i always die in Mines 1-3 :ben: or Mines 3? the third level anyway lol

spikes always get me and I alt F4 out of rage :D

i need to finish all the Mine levels without dying to unlock the next stage right?

    Starting spelunky today :smoke:

its reaaally good, just frustrates me lol

the more you play the more stuff you get so its always interesting, you dont only have the bombs and rope :)

For the record LoS > GoW3

I'm playing luigi's mansion 3ds, fire emblem awakening, and gtaV

LoS > everything of the same genre this gen easily

im at chapter 10 now and omfg the level design is incredible, i feel like im looking at a painting.

    first half > second half

i actually enjoyed the mixed bag of puzzles too

yea first half is more exciting, but the second half now has truly greal levels

the music box and the titan's graveyard were amazing , also pan trasforming to a silver knight and using light and dark magic like you was

    :smoke:

anyway i still got 2 chapters to go and the DLC :face:

  4. last light is gorgeous but im having very little fun playing it. There is so much handholding and scripted scenes in the first few hours that it makes tomb raider's opening look like GTA5.

and i was just stuck wandering around a small warehouse for about 15 minutes. theres a door with a flashing light but it won't open. im convinced that one of the scripted events broke. And i don't think there was a checkpoint either so i probably have to do the combat encounter in that room all over again.

im finding very little incentive to continue playing this game.

glad im not the only one that got bored to shit with this game

graphics are very pretty but thats all it has, the story is uninterestingly presented (could be so much better) the pacing is ok but the writing and the voice acting is mediocre. also the level designs are so linear and the enemies gave me a headache.

mind you i have grown tired of the majority of FPS so most of this is just whining cause the FPS genre sucks

  5. btw anyone here plays Spelunky?

    been addicted to it lately

    amazing game

    played it a bit

i cant stand games where you have to redo everything if you lose, and i dont mean permadeath cause i love permadeath. but spelunky is a 2D platformer, it doesnt provide me personally with enough variety to keep me motivated :)

but its a reaaally nice game and i can see why people are hooked on it.

maybe if i played it multiplayer i would have a very good time but i torrented it :ben:

  6.

playing castlevania LOS , best game of it's genre that i have ever played

    lmao god of war :tom:

That's um, that's something to be debated in all honesty.

But one area God of War definitely trumps Lords of Shadow is in the dodging controls.

Lords of Shadow has an inexcusably dumb control layout as it is, but neglecting the right stick and mapping nothing to it felt like some weird design choice right out of the NES era when games would randomly change button standards with every release.

    hm you are right

although it never bothered me so far, i actually can dodge pretty fine and better than in GOW...

but yea now that you mention it its retarded lol why isnt it on the right stick, even if it doesnt bother me it seems like the way to go.

    and theres nothing to debate

the lore, the characters, the voice acting, the level design , the enemy design , and the details are better than any other GOW or GOW clone i have played.

mind you, i havent played bayonetta but please tell me if there are better games than this cause i would be reaaally amazed. :)

I wouldn't especially say that Bayonetta and God of War are of the same division when it comes to fast-paced action games. Bayonetta is more along the lines of Devil May Cry so it depends how much you like that game.

But interesting that you ask, because on Vanord's twitter (take his opinion how you will) has been talking about this Steam/XBLA game called Marlow Briggs which is very God of War-esque. He infact feels it does GoW better than GoW does it. Anyway, might be worth you checking out, can't be worse than Dante's Inferno.

I liked devil may cry, like most of them...The latest one not so much but it's combat was very nice.

Hm i saw some vids of this Marlow Briggs but it doesn't seem to compete with the quality of Castlevania or GoW :( not that its 100% possible to tell without playing but im pretty sure i can tell enough :)

  8. its got better writing and story than the majority of modern games (though the climax was disappointing).  I really liked the atmosphere and setting as well.

the gameplay is the weakest aspect because theres too much combat and not enough variety. Still not enough to drag the game down.its a solid 8.0 in my books

also why the hell are you hating on this game all of a sudden CM? :D you defended it vehemently even after the hype died down after release.

the writing and the story werent special

but it was interesting as hell to me

i enjoyed every bit of story , dialogue, and environments.

remedy putting Black Angels in the radio in game is enough for me to tip my hat

holy shit you look like a fucking slob jimbo. If you're gonna have a beard at least trim it and keep it neat.

So I can look like everyone else? No thanks. I'll pass. I'd rather stand for what's right - freedom.

huh? you already look like everyone else you silly :) the point is to look better than everyone else.

you think your beard and hair are making you different? lol

lmao i enjoy the perspective. good points.

but his beard and hair make him FEEL different. Don't ruin the fun and cheapen the thrill for the guy.

tho I would agree, deciding to just let it ruff out with his tuff out is a rather exclusive style,

that he would lose should he cut it.

lol his logic is based on pseudorebellious ideas

im not shaving or cutting my hair to be like everyone else

as if millions in the world havent got long hair and beards :tom:

i shave once a month, i almost always have a badass beard but i dont do it to look different, i do it cause i look better with it lol

    as do millions of others

reminds me of those emo kids that used to dress "differently" and in the end they were more in numbers than the other kids :kaz: love the irony

  10.

i will get gta 5 over the weekend. still playing sleeping dogs :) i like how you can do both gang/cop missions.

    definitely finish sleeping dogs first

it would be a shame to leave it hanging :)

also i would take a wild guess that sleeping dogs might have the edge on GTA V in terms of the overall feeling you get from being in a foreign country, definitely feels somewhat fresher...

yeah, i love the vibe. the missions are fun too.

the melee is also very enjoyable, especially when you upgrade and start the takedowns :smoke:

are you mentally challenged or something? did you get dropped on your head as a child? of course having more hair than others makes people look different. me having a beard makes me different than most sexes - woman can't grow one and alot of men shave.

lmao i have long hair im so different than others :tom:
