In short, Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted is the real deal. It's a genuine celebration of everything that has come before and a fresh lens for long-time fans. Even if you've never touched a Five Nights game before in your life, you'll have a lot to latch onto. I'm as surprised as anyone!

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted has great visual impact, and would definitely make for some funny YouTube videos with people trying it for the first time. The only thing with a constant barrage of jump scares (even in VR), is that the initial shock can wane after a while. Very dependent on temperament, but it can be easy to become desensitised to these robots popping out of the darkness as you almost expect it. The tense atmosphere is still there, it’s just the finale can get a little mute if you play too much. Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted is definitely one for series fans or those that enjoy a good scare.

Still, even with countless VR horror games coming before it and effectively siphoning the effective scare juice the series created, Five Nights at Freddy’s VR maintains the series’ identity and utilizes the headset to great effect. Any further attempt at delving into the virtual reality space should try to push new boundaries, but as an opening gambit? It’s an interesting and unsettling success with a few rough edges
