Sea of Thieves install size on Series S is MUCH smaller than the Series X version

Sea of Thieves install sizes:

Series S = 17 GB
Series X = 46 GB

 

 

It will be interesting to see how things are optimized in the future.  Don't forget there's much better compression algorithms for textures now, which new hardware can decompress on the fly.  If developers so choose, they can go back and patch their games and implement far better texture compression resulting in dramatically lower file sizes, especially at the 1080/1440p resolutions Series S will support.

That actually makes sense. They're probably leaving out the 4K textures altogether which results in a much smaller file size.
