This is just done by modders with Vulkan extensions too.. it's not evenDirectStorage which will also have Windows 10/11 optimizations as well, which can reduce overhead further. This will also scale with hardware in the future too. The more cores your GPU has the higher bandwidth it can decompress at and obviously the more raw B/W your SSD has, the more can be sent at one time. Then further out when there's actual dedicated hardware for decompression, there'll be no compute overhead either. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
