The Last Hope was the last and only Star Ocean game I played & beat for the X360.  That was over a decade ago.

The PS4 one was pretty bad. It had some good ideas but terrible everything else. 

 

Anyway, this series has topped with Star Ocean 2 and it's been a downward slope since. Just remake that game or something. It's still years ahead of most JRPGs coming out today ffs. 

 

I don't hold much faith in this new entry. I'll probably buy it to show my support, I'm okay if it's just a solid action RPG because I'm not expecting anything else beyond that. The story and characters are probably going to be cringe, none of the features that was in SO2 will be in this and if they are they won't be as good (private actions, item creations). The lowest of expectations.

same, but I didn't finished it, I dropped it almost at the end after the big "plot twist" and recruiting that white hair guy with the scythe... the game killed all my interest in star ocean lmfao

 

but maybe some day I will try the new ones
