The Railworker's Unions have reached a deal with management to avert a strike at 5am this morning, with Biden's White House helping broker the deal.

I love how this became a hot news story this week, obviously because there was a deadline placed at 12:01am on Friday morning.

But also because people thought this was going to be something they could use against Biden.

Republicans were actually demanding, and trying to push forward legislation to FORCE Railworkers to continue working, and outlaw them from striking, and they tried to push that legislation because they knew Democrats wouldn't vote for that, and they wanted to lay the blame for the entire strike on Democrats.

Nice attempt at Republicans at trying to force BIG GOVERMENT into taking away worker's rights.

Instead, Biden and his White House are the ones who are going to look like heroes, being given credit by the Railworkers negotiators as being key for brokering a deal.

And more importantly, all signs indicate that the Biden White House almost always helped negotiate in the WORKERS favor, not management's on all the major negotiation hurdles.

A win for workers, railroads and the economy

The deal gives the union members an immediate 14% raise with back pay dating back to 2020, and raises totaling 24% during the five-year life of the contract, that runs from 2020 through 2024. It also gives them cash bonuses of $1,000 a year. All told, the backpay and earlier bonuses will give union members an average of an $11,000 payment per person once the deal is ratified.

Few other details of the deal have so far been made public. But the statement from Biden indicated that the major sticking point -- involving work rules and scheduling issues -- that had brought the country within a day of its first national rail strike in 30 years had been addressed in the unions' favor.

Another Biden win.
