I think the greatest satisfaction that I take is that it absolutely killed the "RE purists".

Yeah, they were not going to release a fixed camera, tank control survival horror type game in 2019. 

 

I also love RE7, a first person horror shooter. Oh no.

It's not even close. 

 

RE2 Remake is an actual RE classic game with puzzles and "survival"... methodically placed enemies and items...  RE4 lacked puzzles, and had a bunch of bullshit waves of enemies.  And some really stupid characters/scenarios.

 

RE4 Remake still has a lot of that shit.. but it's definitely changed some things for the better.

If a fixed camera, tank control survivor horror type game sounded stupid in 2019

 

Then it sounded stupid, as well, in 2009.

 

That's why I take satisfaction in the "RE purists" going away, because they were ALWAYS WRONG.

From 2005 onwards, they were always wrong.
