They already mentioned that there's other biomes, think of them like sub biomes. The general design aesthetic though is inspired by the Pacific Northwest. Bear in mind though the Pacific Northwest is not just forest, we have arid mountain ranges, snow, desert and even a temporate rainforest.

This looks pretty cool, you're tripping. FromSoftware doesn't own this genre, they didn't even create it.

I'm curious what they changed in the engine because AMD no longer has that stark performance advantage they did in Horizon 4. This iteration of the engine is also way more demanding.

The game doesn't need RT, the raster systems they have in place come incredibly close to the same effect without the unnecessary performance penalty.
