UK: Valkyria Chronicles 4's debut sales = 54% PS4, 39% Switch, 7% XBO

Man, I hope this game does well enough across all platforms.  It's looking like a huge drop off on Steam.  This game really came with no marketing though, and also during a busy time of the year where there's lots of high profile games either just releasing or right around the corner.  People have to be selective with what they pick up right away.   The fact that it's a full priced when the original was so cheap also doesn't help it's case unfortunately.

 

Hopefully it has long legs and we see another one next gen.

This is all with Dragon Quest and Spiderman eating into the PS4's userbases buying budget. This was a secondary game to cows.

 

Valkyria had a direct JRPG competitor in DQXI.

Plus other shit here and there... and then there's COD in a couple of weeks and RDR2 coming at the end of the month..

 

It's a tough sell for a full priced niche game such as this.  Hopefully they anticipated this and have a sale in mind which will hopefully do well for them.

The game definitely came out during a tough period. Even a bunch of the people who would normally be interested might still have their hands full with other japanese games like Kiwami 2 and DQXI.
