During an Inside Xbox stream, the tech giant confirmed that the game streaming service will first be tested publically in the U.S., U.K. and Korea.

At first, Microsoft says it is only testing the service on Android, but it will eventually expand to iOS as well. Halo 5: Guardians, Gears 5, Killer Instinct, and Sea of Thieves will be the games featured in the trial to start, with more being added over time.

Stadia owns this trash. :rofls:

Google is just going to fucking murder them in this market.

Why even make promo videos and E3 announcements throughout the past year for something that is nowhere near close to being a viable mass consumer platform?

Phil Spencer is a complete fucking moron.

You're basing this on nothing. Are games which get stress tests a few months out nowhere near ready? They want to check stability, latency, dead zones and real world scenarios before they launch. I'm getting so sick and tired of reading the unfounded retardation around here that comes out of you people.

Google has a horrible model, they have 1/3 the amount of data centers that Microsoft has, they have no provisional fallback layer via an existing consumer base in the gaming market, they have no actual physical home platform. With Xbox you can either buy a game to own physically/digitally for your home console or PC, stream from your home and on the go entirely or a mixture of the two for a cohesive all encompassing experience. Hell you'll be able to stream what you own from your own system for free. Google has no answer to this, you can never actually own a game even if you outright purchase it, bandwidth caps are still very real in most places, mobile data plans are not actually unlimited in the way they say they are.

Microsoft has thousands of games they could pull from out of the gate assuming rights permissions are granted via developers and publishers, Google also has no answer to this because they are coming from a position of nothingness. You're trippin.

LOL nice excuses.

Google is straight up going to beat them..........and you will still be making excuses.

Oh, and you can be certain that I will be reminding you of this post as well when you are, indeed, making your excuses.

Google

  • 19 datacenters
  • No pre-existing games
  • No physical hardware platform available
  • No ability to own games outside of streaming them
  • No physical hardware to stream from
  • No ability to get around data caps

Microsoft

  • 54 datacenters
  • Thousands of pre-existing games
  • Physical hardware platforms available
  • Ability to own games physically and digitally
  • Ability to stream from owned physical hardware with owned games for free
  • Data caps are not a problem as games can actually be owned and installed

I mean, are you on fucking drugs?

Google:  releasing an actual product, with an actual wide variety of games, this year

Microsoft: not going to market this year, only beta, and with only 5 games.

They only have 5 games, until they release an actual games list with more than that.

They're releasing something this year which is concession ridden trash.

There's only 5 games because it's a service test, not a free for all play whatever the fuck you want test. 5 games or 100, it doesn't matter how many there are, they're testing the infrastructure not video games.

So they're behind if they are still having to test games.

And their testing must be so delicate if they have a small sample size.........why wouldn't they simply allow the entire library now?

You're OWN logic is undermining your argument.

"Behind" is a curious choice of words, in time maybe but in capability and options for the consumer they're most definitely not. It's an initial testing phase, this is how they're handled for basically any consumer product which does public testing, it's limited.

I don't see how anyone could get behind Stadia in any positive light, it's baffling this is the sword you're choosing to fall on.

If they've been promoting it since last year...........and they have said that their initial round of servers are nothing more than re-purposed Xbox One S hardware.

....and its fucking 2019, fixing to enter 2020.

I'd say they're behind in MULTIPLE ways.

Time, hardware, and appeal.
