Playstation Tablet 1,852
RetiredEngineer® @chiakokhua "TSMC's enhanced 5nm process enters mass production in Q4, ahead of schedule. AMD's new Ryzen first to adopt. PC competitive landscape may usher in the biggest change in 15 years." Pity it didn't make next gen production schedules. Not sure if thisnor 3nm will be used in console revisions for the Pro models. But there seems to be a much more solid roadmap than for the Pro models compared to last gen. Alongside GPU upgrades you will also getting solid CPU upgrades. Assuming MS/Sony launch Pro models in 2023 maybe AMD will also have a much better Ray tracing solution. It's going to be really interesting to see how it stacks up compared to PCs at the time. By 2023 PC will probably have made a quantum leap in ray tracing architecture solutions and god knows what other features will be standard by then.

Playstation Tablet 1,852
I just checked supposedly 5nm can featur upto 80 percent transistor density. Sounds perfect for a 500 dollar Pro model for both. Sony should be able to hit 72 CUs I assume for their butterfly design.
Playstation Tablet 1,852
Just read 3nm is on its way for 2021. Wonder how affordable. Revisions are a must so the consoles arent too gimp in front of PCs.
lynux3 2,437
3nm is the minimum for console refresh. 5nm won't be worth it.
