"Combating gun violence in New York City remains a central focus for the NYPD. For the month of March 2021, there were 492 gun arrests citywide. This is an increase of 66.8% compared to March 2020, or +197 arrests."

And now just imagine how many more guns they could have gotten off the streets (resulting in less overall shootings) if De Blasio didn't butcher the city's police force?

You keep on deflecting while avoiding the root issue. 

 

Yes there are more guns being collected......but that number would have been greater if the police had more resources, which would have naturally led to a decreased spike in shootings.

De Blehsio is sinking $30 million into trying to boost NYC tourism but who wants to visit a city with constant shootings? Maybe he should rethink his decision to cave into the BLM/Antifa wokies and get NYPD the funding it needs.

Bro you seem to think the NYC police department is underfunded lmfao.  NYC police department is probably the most well funded police department in the United States if not the world. 

 

Let's look at the facts shall we.

 

At $6 billion a year, the New York Police Department has the largest police budget in the nation.

 

But when police pension, fringe benefits, settlements, and debt payments are added in, police spending actually swells to over $10 billion a year. 

 

For the 2021 budget only about $420 million was actually cut from a 10.9 Billion.... so the 2021 NYC police budget was 10.48 Billion

 

OMG  DEFUNDED!!!!!! 

 

 

We don't have to imagine because they're collecting more guns this year than all other previous years when they weren't "Defunded".    Sorry that the facts don't fit your BS narratives.
