Except its right below both Spyro and Crash Bandicoot on your own list.   Did you just attempt to MOVE THE TOPIC?   Yup, you definitely tried. And failed.

That would be retarded for MS to do. So maybe.

Sony and Nintendo will never allow Gamepass on their platform because it's a terrible deal for them. Sony is literally selling the same games you can get for super cheap on Gamepass at full price. You think they gonna accept lowering their software sales to get a tiny fraction of the revenue stream from Gamepass?

Plus no doubt Sony and even Nintendo will release their own GP like service at some point and the last thing they'll want is Gamepass taking subscribers from them on their very own platform.

Man, the Lemkids on this forum are dumb as hell. Good thing none of you are running a business.

Sony won’t be selling COD pretty soon, it’s top selling franchise. It won’t be getting the next Elder scrolls, either. Or THPS. Or Crash. Or SPyro. Or over watch. I could go on and on.

I really do think that Nintendo and Sony see this as an opportunity as possibly choking Microsoft to the point where they may actually give up and exit the dedicated hardware business.

And Sony is willing is make do without Call of Duty if they can secure a replacement military FPS quickly. Quite frankly, CoD is not as strong as it used to be.

And, maybe if they can secure an agreement with Take Two/Rockstar over GTA exclusivity.

Nintendo and Sony can actually cause Activision games to not be worth $70 billion, if they can't sell those games on those platforms.  Microsoft would've literally bought something that lost a good chunk of its value, because it literally can't sell games anymore on those two major platforms.

That would be a pretty big loss for MS too. Stripping out the platform that sell those games the most, at full fucking price mind you, while MS gets some breadcrumbs from a cheap ass userbase.

The current Gamepass model is not profitable without selling your games on other platforms to mitigate the losses.

And like I said, what do Sony gets in return? %20 of the revenue stream from Gamepass like a common retailer? While Sony is seeing sales decline of softwares they could have sold full price with full royalty because they are on Gamepass at launch? Lmao.

MS has plenty of disposable income, this is nothing to them. The best part is, they’re not done. EA could be next. :D  Then Take Two. :D

MS simply decided to buy the market, and there is nothing Sony can do… except HOPE MS allows the games to release on their platform.

Release they will… the streamed version, where you still buy the game on Xbox… on your PlayStation  :reg:

I don't think killing MS out of the hardware space is their priority. Not like Sony are feeling pressure from the Xcuck Series X trailing behind in both hardware and software sales since day one.

That's the problem, isn't it? They can't recoup that $70 billion investment with a fickle 25m userbase that pay only $10 a month. It would only take 23 years to recoup the initial investment with their current Gamepass model and userbase. :D

They need the typical sales from PC and PS5 to turn a significant enough profit with those games.

No one makes a 70 billion investment and expect nothing in return. They're banking hard on Gamepass but it's no where near the profitability level they wish it was.

If anything this could fire back spectacularly at them. Especially if the next batch of Activision/Blizzard games disappoint/underperform or Gamepass doesn't grow as fast as they anticipate. Plus IPs are just names, you need talent behind them and a good product to keep consumers invested in your products. We've seen plenty of household names slowly become irrelevant with MS at the helm in the past *cough* Rare *cough*. They need to be smarter than this.

But this is the clutch argument every time, but bu MS has infinite money. As if they're running a fucking charity here. lol

It makes total sense. Don't worry, PS users will still be able to play these games. They'll just have to buy them from Microsoft, and stream them to their PS5's in the Gamepass app.

Now MS gets 100% of the game sales, all of the users, and Sony's just happy because people can play the games on their system. MS plans to release Gamepass everywhere, from Smart TVs to streaming sticks, and that's what they'll turn PS5 into.... a (expensive) streaming stick.

The moment Microsoft raises GamePass subscription fees............they've basically have weighed down any chances of explosive growth.

And after spending $7.5 billion, another $70 billion, and they've essentially given up XBL Gold revenue, remember NOBODY IS PAYING FOR THAT directly anymore. And they have to incur the cost of running xCloud servers.

AND they have to pay operational costs to keep running Bethesda studios and Activision/Blizzard  studios from this point forward.  Them spending $7.5 billion doesn't mean that Bethesda employees are working for free. Microsoft now has to be cutting them checks, as their employer now.

So this is all costing Microsoft more than the intiial $77-$80 billion dollars they spent to just BUY OWNERSHIP of these studios.

GamePass subscription price is definitely going up soon.

I personally would be fine with a price increase. If they went to $19.99 a month, I'd still pay it happily. Although.... I'm set for years already.

It's criminally underpriced as is.

Like I said, it's a lose-lose situation for Sony. They're not going to help MS grow Gamepass on their platform, they'd be better off without CoD than this losing deal you're proposing.

Sony will keep their business model as it's actually profitable unlike Gamepass. One successful first party game from Sony generates more money than a few months of Gamepass subscriptions. The Last of Us II sold 4m copy in it's first week at full price.

You act like it's just COD. It's much, much more than just COD at this point....and it will continue to trend that direction. This isn't all MS is buying.  Example: Sony no longer has a FPS outside of...Battlefield? :D  Which is essentially free on Xbox, anyway.

I'm pretty certain that Sony has told Microsoft that they are not going to accept Gamepass in any form.

But...........if Microsoft wants to be a full-blown third party publisher to sell their games individually, then they can apply to the Playstation platform as that, and they can get Playstation devkits to port their games to run natively on PS5.

Except, that's not going to happen. You will be streaming Xbox games, which luckily, you're used to as you've used your phone to play hours worth of Xbox games already. I bet you'll even get an achievement for renewing your membership.
