Deviation Games which partnered with PlayStation is working on a 'world-class FPS', scheduled for 2024

Hope its Killzone or a cool looking IP like Titanfall. I despise the modern military shooter.

Here is a quick summary of the Tweets:

  • world-class FPS
  • story-driven single-player campaign
  • multiplayer with arcade and competitive modes
  • setting unknown
  • planned to be supported for years
  • first official information expected within a year
  • release scheduled for 2024

Not really surprising if you consider the studio consists mainly of former Call of Duty Black Ops devs.

Sony had to have known about MS being in negotiations with Activision for a while now.  They definitely made some pre-emptive moves to have an exclusive FPS IP created to fill the gap, if Call of Duty was to ever be removed.

Deviation Games, and Bungie will fill any holes quite nicely.

I don't think it has anything to do with MS. They have no GAAS games like Destiny and with Resistance, Killzone, and Socom dead no FPS or online games.

That acquisition and Deviation Games partnership solves both problems anyway.

Colin Moriarty said that a new Socom game is in development.. so it doesn't sound like Socom is dead at least.

Also Guerilla's second game is heavily rumoured to be a shooter too. Not sure if FPS or 3rd person though.

Think Sony is going to have around 3/4 shooter IPs in a few years.
