Long Ball Larry 1,378
Today, we announced we're partnering with Samsung to bring the Xbox App to 2022 Smart TVs so that you can play hundreds of cloud-enabled games, without a console. That means hundreds of games in our Game Pass Ultimate library, and Fortnite without a subscription. Playing Xbox games on Samsung's 2022 Smart TVs will be a seamless experience – it will be similar to using any other streaming app on your TV. It's simple, starting on June 30, access the Xbox app from the Samsung Gaming Hub or Media Hub and log into your existing Microsoft account, connect your favorite Bluetooth controller. If you're a Game Pass Ultimate member, you'll have access to play loads of great cloud-enabled games, or you can jump into Fortnite without a subscription https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2022/06/09/whats-next-for-gaming/?ocid=Platform_soc_omc_xbo_tw_Photo_lrn_6.9.

jehurey 3,318
They could've done this a long time ago, put apps any just about any smart tv. or media streaming device. But the plain fact of the matter is that xCloud is not ready for prime time. They can't have millions of people logging onto it at the same time. And they were probably waiting for SmartTV's that had the most newest wifi to help improve performance. Chances are people won't be able to play very fast-response games, like say trying to get the tightest race times in FH5, very well. Its only more passively-controlled games that typically work. TLHBO 2,299
If xbox stops relying on dedicated hardware for gaming how are you going to flip consoles for a living? I guess you'll have to go back to flipping burgers instead.
