Y'know it really puts things into context.

 

Here's one guy, who used to be a professional game designer back in the 90's. His bio indicates he hasn't really made any big games since then.

 

There's assloads of "indie" 2D games all over the place. It pretty much makes up 60% of everything listed on Steam.

 

And then guy just comes in, dusts the cobwebs off, and you can CLEARLY tell that this is a much more fun and engaging and authentic 2D action game than 99.95% of the indie shit that's out there.

Fuck you're talking about, there's plenty of great 2d indie games inspired by classics out there. A lot of bad ones too, I suppose.
