Why hasn't there been a horror game that utilizes mirrors to detect monsters and hide from them.

 

Basically the scene from Jurassic Park where the kids are hiding in the kitchen

 

That means it can't screen-space reflections, because you're position the camera away from the monster, and staring at a reflective surface on a wall or ground. And they just cheat and render a second mirror image, and not have to do extensive cube-maps or ray-traced reflections.

btw I noticed this includes layers of fear 2 as well apparently, some scenes are from the second game
