Playstation Tablet 1,852
It will also have worldwide ramifications. Honestly the state of Japanese gaming exclusivewise is getting sad on PS5. Sure it gets all the games but once upon a time all these were exclusive. Playstation Tablet 1,852
Atelier and Disgaea used to be PS franchises. Now Switch gets timed exclusive Disgaea games and Atelier sells 10x on Switch.
Remij 5,027
Both Yakuza and Persona are absolutely going to be Switch games from now on.. Yakuza is in devlopment and of course Persona will be. If SquareEnix has any sense in them, they will ease back on such high production values for Final Fantasy, and also release it on Switch. Focus on what matters, take smaller risks and make bigger bank by supporting Nintendo right out of the gate. Build up fanbases on all the platforms. It will take time, but they can do it. Yes, those franchises were big for Playstation in Japan and Nintendo getting competent versions of them will take away from that, but it will be better for these franchises overall. Playstation Tablet 1,852
Yakuza will sell more on PS5 than Switch 2 imo. But I can easily see Switch 2 eventually becoming the dominate platform for Persona.

Honestly now that Yakuza has 40+ hour turn based games the games become fairly appealing on Ditch. And Sega it looks like just like S-E is going Full multiplat.

Yes of course, in the beginning it will.. but if Sega nurtures the franchise properly on Switch, it will grow and grow. They'll port them all and I'm almost certain the new games will have day 1 Switch 2 versions. It takes time to build up fanbases on different platforms. Consistency is the key. Playstation Tablet 1,852
Persona 5 Royal Switch came late as fuck then it blew up on the sales charts cause everyone wanted a portable version. The hybrid Switch 2 function will be huge for some games.
David P 159
It's not going to change jack shit. Japanese publishers won't stop putting out games on Playstation and PC because of the insignificant Japanese market where a Yakuza game barely pass 200k. At worst you can expect Japanese studios to make games with the Switch 2 shit hardware in mind. So they'll limit themselves in the graphics department. This is nothing new for the most part and most non Capcom Japanese games looks like outdated shit anyway.
lynux3 2,450
If Sony puts out a handheld it won’t be an issue. People have become accustomed to playing AAA games on handheld now so long as the device supports PlayStation’s library. Sony tried to do this with Vita, but I guess the market wasn’t ready for it. Additionally, Vita was proprietary and only played Vita games. Edited 4 hours ago by lynux3
