Yeah this is the most impressive part. I'm probably over 15h in and it is still continually giving me new mechanics. They expand on such a simply gameplay loop so well. Honestly can't think of another game that drop feeds so much content and game elements like this.

Yeah this is basically where I fall with it too and I think that probably says a lot because there a plenty of games with faults that I'm still keen to jump into. It also wasn't holding my attention long when I did boot it up, felt the repetitiveness creep in after an hour or 2 of gameplay. Would always stop and put something else on. Think it sticks out even more having played it on either side of FFVII Rebirth and Dave the Diver which have both just sucked me in and are so fun to play. 

Atm I'm settling on it being a bit of a disappointment even with the cool things it's done. Feels like it already needs a sequel to truly refine it and turn it into something great but this is the sequel that was supposed to do that. 

Dave the Diver continues to exceed expectations. Having an absolute blast with it. Haven't touched DD2 since it came out

I'd say give it another go man, especially if you gave it up very early. So many new gameplay elements get added like practically every game day that the game a few hours in isn't even close to what it is early on.

But it is still in essence the dive and shop loop, so that part does has to be fun for you to like it. 

Dave the Diver is an absolute banger. Loving it. Hard to explain but I'd say if you enjoyed something like Golf Story (imo Dave the Diver is already better) then you will like this. Different mechanics but very similar style of game where you have this core mechanic and loop with this story happening and more and more gameplay elements being added constantly. Can not recommend enough and that's based on like 3-4h. 

Played an hour or so of Dave the Diver and enjoying it so far. Has a cool little loop that constantly adds new elements and a cool little story.

That last one is hilarious 

- Bit more Dragon's Dogma 2 but largely my thoughts are the same. Ranges from good to incredibly frustrating.

- Back in to Helldivers 2 and instantly in love with the game again. They've already added a ton of new stuff in the month of so I had stopped playing. Tripled the level cap, new ship modules, new strategmns, new missions plus the game is just ridiculously fun. Finished Suicide tier missions so have access to Impossible now. Some of the most cinematic moments I have ever seen in gaming and none are scripted. Just incredible. 

- Roguebook still taking me away from other stuff for a run here and there. 

- Randomly started Immortals of Aviuem. Didn't play much but surprised by the production levels. Literally is just a fps game with no guns though lol Seems as typical a 7/10 as you can imagine but can be mindlessly fun.

Dave the Diver is now out on PS5 and has been very keen to try that out so will prob give that a go.

I understand nothing about this space but how is there a market for so many different handheld devices. Assumed Steamdeck would just fully dominate this space like Nintendo does.

yeah lol except for some reason it works with Diablo. The loot drive is a major factor in that game. Having it as some added on bs to a souls-esque game is just dumb

Nice. Hopefully keeps certain elements from the first but has a few more QoL improvements.

It's an honest observation to see that there are a number of people here who never speak about playing the games they brag about.  I don't know why it's so bad to call that stuff out... especially while those people constantly criticize the games you actually ARE playing.  It's not ALL people all the time... but it's a typical thing that happens here.  So that's where I think it comes from.  And being honest... I very rarely see a PS exclusive game thread here that's just positive on its own without simultaneously shitting on an Xbox game at the same time.

He plays the Xbox games he talks about but he talks A LOT about games he doesn't play and literally chooses not to play games based on their system lol He has masssssive bias (hates 'Sony movie games' but loves Hellblade and hyped for HB2 is just the tiniest example). If Helldivers 2 was on Xbox he would be all over it but still wouldn't touch it on PC cause it's a Sony game lol Literally says things like bought Horizon but won't play it. It's laughably childish and peak fanboy which is why it is ironic when you make threads hating on fanboys (rightfully so) and he is there acting like he ain't one of them.  Then he gets destroyed over and over and starts talking about ppl's wives and social life and shit... a 40yr old on a system wars gaming forum...

Except my point is that it never is about sales when it is positive news. Go to any positive PS game sales thread and it's dumbo talking about lol sales and lol reviews and anything but the sales. Even in this he talks about review scores. Then in nearly every thread he goes on and on about certain people not playing a game when he (and you, but you at least don't go on about this point) literally doesnt play ANY game on PS and yet talks about them more than anything else.
