No you're not. Switch 2 will have a tons of games made specifically for it unlike deck which will not.

The current Deck will be relegated to a last last last gen only system in decades to come don't be silly.

Most of the switch games "made specifically for it" are ports worse than the lowest PC settings.

Steam Deck will continue to play brand new games for decades to come. As long as it takes for Supergiant Games or Team Cherry to make bigger games than Cyberpunk 2077.

Let's be real Switch 2 will outsell steam deck's entire 2-3 year lifetime sales in a week or less.

The only value of sales to me is that I won't waste my money on a stunted platform. Vita was stunted. With Steam Deck, hardware sales mean nothing because I'm guaranteed to get a better library than Switch 2 for literally decades to come.

Even if you stick to what's officially Verified/Playable on Deck, the library is insane.

  3. We've seen enough from Netflix, MAX, etc to be skeptical of subscriptions saving the day. I think MS big acquisitions won't drive up subs anywhere near what MS needs, and Xbox is not going to be revived as a console to the level of Xbox 360. If MS wants to be a game publisher, they have to be on Playstation. But I don't think there's anything strategic in MS being a game publisher.

Phil Spencer is just fucking up, and expanding the rot into profitable sectors at MS.

I was going to make a post saying "It will probably just open up Battle.net and run through that, just like Uplay did... but then I saw this on my twitter timeline..

So I guess it's actual Steam integration.  That's pretty good.

I have a feeling that once MS gets control of them, everything but World of Warcraft and Diablo will see actual Steam releases with full integration.  I think Diablo and WoW remain on Battle.net.. but if they do release on Steam, in those cases it will just open Bnet and run the game.  Those two are the biggest drivers for bnet by far.. and it was just recently revealed that removing COD from Steam in an attempt to grow Battle.net hurt the franchise quite a bit on PC.  I just can't see Diablo and WoW coming to Steam itself... because then Battle.net would completely die and MS would be paying Valve a slice instead of getting the whole thing themselves.

It turns out nearly 60% of D4 sales are on Battle.net. That sounds like a win, but maybe they're thinking it could've been even bigger on Steam.

MS is already supporting Steam with their existing output. I think only Minecraft is not on Steam. I expected this to happen, but not so quickly.
