The best hope for Starfield sales is on Steam.

Maybe when they release it on PS5 after they see GP numbers and it barely moves 2mil on PC.
Yeah seriously. On what platform will it sell "millions and millions"? They're giving it away on Gamepass.

In a year where Sony has had basically nothing all Xbox had to do was tap it in to give the Lemmings a brief window of relevance and they blew it.
Spiderman is gonna deliver on quality and sales. Not my favorite franchise, but it would've wiped the floor even with the best Starfield.

It's up there with the worst flops for sure. I'd put Cyberpunk high on the list too.

did you complete totk? i didn't even like botw, and yet i loved (and spent 85 hours on) the game.
I played like 15 hours and bounced off.

Both BDG3 and TOTK are siting on a 96 Meta
TOTK has twice the number of reviews though... As more reviews come in BDG3's avg has slowly dipped.
Anyways the point of my orginal post wasn't TOTK vs BDG3.
The point was this year already had such high quality bangers that Starfield had a high bar to clear.
Zedla Washed Kingdom is padded by retarded fan sites. Baldurs Gate 3 is one of the greatest games of all time. Theyre not in the same league.

Gamespot and IGN both gave Fallout 4 and Skyrim 9s (9.5 from IGN). Starfield is a clear drop off, and always looked like it.

It’s already better than Spiderman 2. Lmfao.
Spider-Man 2 is a complete nothing burger, unless you’re 11 years old.
Spiderman 2 will be a top 5 goty pick. Starflop won't make the lists.

You were right on the money.
TOTK with the right hook and Boulders gate 3 with the left hook.... Set the bar waaaay to High for Starfield.
Lemmings
Actually Baldurs Gate off the top rope clobbered Zedla 14 and starflop in one hit.

Holy shit, that review is kinda savage actually. I might not play this game when I've already got 2 more Baldurs Gate character ideas to try.

Made it to Act 2. Shadowheart seems like a pretty important person to have around during the early parts.

7" or 8" is not make or break. I think the problem is going with an unattainable resolution like 2560 x 1600. You're just wasting battery on a resolution the GPU can't possibly sustain. 1080p is a stretch but > qHD is a blunder.

If you wanted to switch to PC gaming because of subscriptions, then you would have done it already.
Right now, you are just bringing the idea because you are a bitter ps fanboy who got owned the same company who sucks its dick.
Huh I effectively switched to PC already. I haven't played a PS5 game since Ragnarok. Last year was dominated by Steam Deck. This year I upgraded my desktop GPU and bought a gaming laptop. What multiplayer game on PS5 justifies a $80/yr subscription?
-
I don't like the feel of these games.
-
It's great to see Lenovo jumping in so quickly. Need Alienware next. And Valve needs to hurry up with SteamOS for these other devices.
-
All the more reason to lean into PC gaming. These subscriptions just to play online don't make sense anymore. It's even weirder now that free to play games like Apex Legends and Warzone don't require a subscription. So I'm paying $80 to play a subset of online games which will probably have weak audiences due to the sub itself and lack of cross-play.
The wrinkle that Essentials includes some free games is irrelevant. PSN only started doing that because they were losing to Xbox 360. Then MS started GamePass when they lost hard to Playstation. Giving away games is the strategy of every loser. See also Epic Games Store.

IF anyone is interested there is a youube channel called Dan Allen Gaming that has interviews with the actors of some of the main characters. I watched the one with ShadowHearts actress. Pretty cool watch.
Even tho it's an actress playing a character, I think we all know she was sending special messages just to me personally

hence the use of the word "chase"
too easy
What platform ya playing Baldurs Gate on?

Well steam gamers basically do nothing but chase games based on their viral popularity at the moment
So yeah, I can definitely see people starting to drop Baldurs Gate 3, because there's now more and more talk about the 3rd act being a bit lackluster.
Time to run to the next round of FOMO
Good to know the next big thing always starts on Steam

Is Starfield the biggest flop of all time?

The problem with Starfield flopping is what's next? I pity the Lemming who says "wait for Hellblade 2". Maybe Avowed will turn out good, but that's holiday 2024 at best. I kinda liked the Fable trailer, but that'll be lucky to launch in 2025. Starfield was The One. It clearly has not delivered at the level Xbox needs. I'm not even sure I'm gonna play it now.
