Whilst 40K does attract the neckbeard crowd and people that don’t like showers; fuck it the lore is actually pretty awesome and they’ve really captured the vibe with this. I’m not going to pretend it’s going to be a 10 or even a 9 but I’ll still buy it.

The issue of malice was concerning the handling of Billet Labs afterwards and what looked like LMG ghosting Billet Labs when they brought up that LMG had wronged them. LMG has an email from the day this all want down asking Billet Labs to send them an invoice, so I think any questions of malice towards Billet Labs can be closed. LMG is just deeply dysfunctional...though I've hit reply instead of reply all to work emails often enough to feel them on that.

 

 

LMG released a 20-minute video where they announced they're stopping production for a week to re-tool their pipelines and had every department lead apologizing to the community for their part in the errors. It caps off with Linus almost crying while admitting he let his emotions get the best of him and apologizing to Billet Labs. I think it's a great video and exactly what I want from this controversary: LMG promising to do better (I'm a LTT Floatplane subscriber, I love LTT). But you're kidding yourself if you think LMG "won" this.

 

 

It'll be interesting if GN acknowledges their errors in this or if they do just ride the wave.

Switch arguably won last gen but the PS2 wrote the rulebook on modern successful games console and made a template for Sony to continue to pretty much the PS5 with. You couldn’t remake the switch 4 more times with better hardware and expect the same results.

Summary:

 

- Billet Labs sends a one-of-a-kind prototype to LMG for a video and wanted it back, LMG said they would send it back, a miscommunication occurred and it got auctioned

- GN makes that video in the OP and includes a section about the Billet Labs situation

- Linus makes a post on the LTT forum calling GamersNexus out for breaking the rules of journalism by not reaching out to Linus before posting the video to get his side of the story

- Linus claims his side of the story in the Billet Labs situation is that they had an agreed upon price to pay Billet Labs back for the prototype, so if GamersNexus has contacted him before posting the video they'd know this

- GN asks Billet Labs when that deal took place, Billet Labs says LMG ghosted them after the auction and only reached out to them after the GN video was posted

Says a lot about GN to me.

I typed this on my phone the other day but never hit post. LTT did a cunty thing with the auction. Makes me wonder if they just took it for granted that they get so much shit given to them they just auction it off afterward? I dunno, doesn’t seem like they would need the money, shitty behaviour from them but I doubt they have outwardly tried to fuck over a start up to make a few grand when they would obviously get found, seems more like a mistake which was just shitty on there part but not malicious, similar to there typos on there results tables. 
 

Meanwhile Steve (?) is playing this like he’s machine gun Kelly to Linus’ Eminem. He can try his little heart out all he wants but he’s not going to win against the much better outfit. 

I might be wrong but if he wanted to know what the deal was with good intentions he could have just asked Linus but instead he’s posting response videos and riding the wave of attention he’s getting right now. 

Can’t help but feel like it’s convenient for GN to try and cancel LTT who surely are the biggest media platform talking about PC’s and tech. They’re not perfect but the reasons they listed (at least in the 4-5 mins I watched, not watching for 42 mins lol) seem slightly tame, it’s not like they’re calling Linus out for running around his office with his dick out or something.

The real question is have you fucked the column between the two doors, if there’s structural damage to that you’re talking big money, maybe even not economically viable to do. If it’s bodywork and the column isn’t dented  it’ll cost a lot but it would be worth repairing the car.

I saw it last night in the IMAX, overall it was a great film, Nolan back to his best. 

I can’t make my mind up on this. Gut reaction is that it looks ugly and that it should be properly portable, be it either 5G or local hardware capable of that such as the Switch or even the Steam Deck. The thing is I can’t help but feel that’s not what Sony is going for, perhaps it really is just a touch screen slapped in between a Dual Sense and it’s going to come in relatively cheap compared to it’s apparent ‘rivals’. Maybe it solves the problem that most older non virgin gamers with a wife and kids have, gaming mean kicking my wife out of the living room or just flat out doesn’t happen when the kids are home watching TV, maybe this is solving that problem without costing too much money.

I wonder if this may sell enough to pay off for Sony rather than going in with the other misfires they’ve had over the years, such as the PlayStation move or that weird 24 inch PlayStation branded 3D TV they made about 15 years ago.

I'm intrigued to see a challenger go into combat, the UK has never lost one in battle and there are some crazy stories out there including about one them getting show with about 70 RPG's. The reality is the worst they've encountered is a poorly equipped Iraqi army but still, it will be interesting.  

I upgraded my CPU 2 years ago and price wise an equivalent Ryzen wiped the floor with Intel. I bought a 5800X and it’s been a workhorse although I had to upgrade my BIOS with a 3000 series motherboard which is unusual apparently. Unless Intel have stopped rehashing the same old ageing architecture (which they may well have done, I’m out of touch), I would go AMD. They came back swinging a few years ago and it’s paid off. 
I still have a 1060GTX 6gig, going to upgrade to a 4070 (maybe even a TI soon) and water cool my rig.
