Recommended Posts

If MS confirms their cross gen strategy for the next few years, if you don't do PC gaming or Cloud stuff. X sounds solid.

holy shit :D

X is such a failure. it's  worth less than PS4 Pro already LMAO

I think they'd have these $100 off deals for like 6 months in a row or something lol.

The XBox SAD should be like $100 with 5 games. The nerve to sell it for only $50 less.

The One X is dead when the next generation Xbox comes out next year so not really a good deal. Aren't Xbox One X's already discounted more than $100 regularly as it is?

You idiots need to make your minds up. Is the X dead next year or is Scarlett not going to have any exclusives for 2-3 years?

Which is it numb nuts? You people are mental cases.

Who said it wasn't going to have anything worthwhile in the first 2-3 years? After the next generation Xbox launches I don't see Microsoft wanting to back port anything new to Xbox One X with Lockhart being around.

Why? If games are on One they will be playable on all models, no one is cutting off the S. You're just getting the less shitty version of One.

No one said it won't have anything worthwhile, but apparently it won't have independent software for a few years. I'd expect the PlayStation 5 will be no different as Sony already announced they expect PS4 to be the primary point of engagement for 3 years going into next-gen.

You're forgetting all their games are on XCloud (S based server blades for now) and PCs that are weaker than an X, and sure as hell don't come with an SSD.

Sony has clearly stated multiple times they believe in generations, once the final PS4 crop releases with DS, GOT, TLOU2 it's pretty much over for Sony's first party.

They will launch with day 1 PS5 exclusives guaranteed.

I didn't forget anything. Project xCloud is just an imitation of what PlayStation Now is currently. We already know the road map for PlayStation Now, but there's many question marks regarding Project xCloud and their road map. So far it looks like Microsoft is doing what Sony is doing.

MS's strategy is viable to be fair, if they want to focus on games and services. Not on selling boxes under your TV.

In a way they're not dicking you over. Let's also be realistic about the PC scene here, they want to cover the low end hardware there, and even the S can obviously run those games in some decent capacity. Be it like 720p or 600p, it doesn't matter. Some people will be fine with just being able to play a game on a console they aren't wasting money on.

I'm going to stand resolute in saying that those S blades will simply be for testing phases, not public rollout.

MS has the benefit or disadvantage on the hardware front, XCloud will be more in demand by the simple reason that more people are willing to invest into Sony hardware - Pay a premium. The majority of PSnow users will come from existing hardware users at least at the start,

It's becoming a rolling platform like GPU releases, there will be a new platform obviously and eventually the latter will be phased out but it gives people a lot of options, time to upgrade and budget but still be involved in the next gen for a period of time.
