Brad was already making quite a bit of money for having a tech podcast with patreon backing.

 

I didn't even know he had a tech podcast, with Will Smith. He's got 2,400 Patrons paying, at minimum, $2 per month.

 

They probably just weren't going to make as much money working for Red Ventures, while still having alot of work duties. But, chances are all of them will probably be able to make as much money as their CBSi salary, while still being able to work from home.

 

And they'll probably work less.

They also have the freedom to do what they want and when, which is big for someone like Vinny who strongly implied that he was being overworked at GB and wasn't spending as much time with his family as he wanted to.

I think they got used to working from home.

 

It will be interesting to see if they can make enough money, but not having an actual office and presentation stage to create content.

 

When they were leaving, there was somebody who said that they had some knowledge of what their salaries were a few years ago when they got bought by CNET, and they said they insinuated that they were making over $100,000 each, annually.

 

They'll probably need like 8 to 10 thousand patrons.  I just checked their Patreon page, and they are already up to 5k paying a minimum of $5 a month. So they might be able to do it.

 

And I'm sure they learned a thing or two from giantbomb about getting into the merch business. If they create merch that people want to buy, that might be able to get them some comfortable amounts of money.

You know I did the math and with my calculations, considering how much Brad and Vinnie eat and drink on the podcast, I can figure that their monthly food budget is X dollars.. using that information along with average housing costs in the state they're in, as well as using inside sources which have claimed on multiple occasions that their salaries are Y dollars, I can deduce that they require Z patrons to sufficiently survive!  I've just checked their patron and knowing what they know about merchandising I feel really confident in saying that they can thrive and will be extremely happy! - Jederpy
