Now at GDC 2022, it’s revealing how the new FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 actually works — and that it’s coming to Microsoft’s Xbox game consoles too. While AMD says it can’t actually say when Xbox game developers might take advantage of FSR 2.0, it says it “will also be fully supported on Xbox and will be available in the Xbox GDK for registered developers to use in their games.” https://community.amd.com/t5/gaming/amd-fidelityfx-super-resolution-2-0-gdc-2022-announcements/ba-p/517541/jump-to/first-unread-message Quote More Game Support and FSR 2.0 on Xbox Last week, we revealed the first game that is planned to get FSR 2.0 is DEATHLOOP, by our friends over at Arkane Studios and Bethesda. Today, we’re excited to announce that another game that will support FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 is Forspoken by Luminous Productions. FSR 2.0 will be available in the game when it comes out in October 2022, along with many other AMD FidelityFX technology effects. Additionally, for developers, we’re happy to announce at GDC today that FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 will also be fully supported on Xbox and will be available in the Xbox GDK for registered developers to use in their games. Though for gamers, we do not have a timeline today of when you can expect to see any Xbox games with FSR 2.0. I wonder why they wouldn't mention PS5? This is a shader based upscaling algorithm.. so it makes no sense that it wouldn't be supported on PS5 as well.

AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.0 is open source, of course it will work on PS5 too. MS probably just has a marketing deal or some shit, you know they love to waste money. It works on PlayStation too. When AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 1.0 it also had that same announcement for Xbox consoles..... But that shit also work on PlayStation and even Switch. Lmfao at lemmings getting excited for what basically amounts to a marketing deal, turns out MS does actually know their base well 1

This marks the moment when the first console game gets AMD super resolution technology, even before Xbox games do. Unlike PlayStation, Sony never announced that AMD FSR is being implemented into their SDK. Microsoft, on the other hand, has publicly confirmed that their XBOX Game Development Kit now includes AMD FSR libraries, enabling much faster implementation for game developers." PS had 1.0 first they just never announced it. As you say probably the same thing here. Ghostz thought he was onto a winner. The fact that AMD made it open source goes against any idea that they would offer an exclusivitity deal, AMD wants this to be used by and available to anyone and everyone. Nintendo also added it to their SDK for Switch and didn't make a public announcement like MS did. MS knows it's base are downtrodden insecure slobs that need constant reassurances and would cling on to any little thing to feel good about Xbox
