I bet it would only take one AAA game skipping Xbox to get MS to change their stance. Like one Assassin's Creed going defacto PS5/PC exclusive, and the S requirement would be over. MS isn't in a strong enough position to hold the whole generation back.

This may already be happening with certain Japanese studios/publishers.

MS would just buy Ubisoft
