jehurey 3,299
yeah, apparently people are saying that there is no perceptible difference in activating DLSS, so their framerate never improve after turning on ray-tracing. DLSS appears to be broken. Edited December 14, 2022 by jehurey
FIREPOWER 765
I'm getting 120+fps with DLSS3 on the 4090 but yea the update is bugged. I've seen people with 3070s crying that they are getting fps in the 30s with DLSS on. CDPR has acknowledged the problem and they say they are looking into it but yea this update is fucked for anyone that doesn't own the latest AMD or Nvidia GPUs. It's 120fps with RTX On and DLSS 3. Without DLSS 3 it's in the 40s. Yea, no reason it should be this CPU intensive. CDPR don't know what the hell they are doing when it comes to optimization, it's shameful.

RT is severely CPU limited in this version of the engine. I haven't tried it yet.. but that will be obvious. You also have the fact that the game has a ton of foliage with alpha textures which would increase the demand for RT significantly over even a game like Cyberpunk 2077. It's definitely putting a lot of stress on the CPU. Add to that the Ultra+ settings that people want to run the game at.. with nearly unlimited draw distance... and you have a recipe for disaster. Also, the game apparently seems to be using "dx11on12"...which basically means that it's running through an API translation layer. LOL wtf...
