First, Twisted Metal Black on PS2 is a much better game. Secondly, this series hasn't had an entry since the early-mid PS3 days. There's nothing wrong with a franchise revival after a long hiatus, you have Sheep asking for a revival of FZero, a franchise than hasn't had a good game since 2004 but Nintendo prefer to shit out more Kirby games instead.
