Sony fires hundreds of Bungie employees, removing nearly 30% of Bungie staff (TCHBFR!!!!)

Recommended Posts

Roughly 29% of Bungie’s staff has been fired or removed from Bungie projects entirely.

These actions will affect every level of the company, including most of our executive and senior leader roles.

And 155 more are being removed from Bungie and being placed in other Sony departments :cruise:

Bungie came to Sony with 1300-1400 employees. Down to almost half that now. :vince:

  • Long Ball Larry changed the title to Sony fires hundreds of Bungie employees, removing nearly 30% of Bungie staff (TCHBFR!!!!)

It was only a matter of time they sack the leadership roles and integrate into SIE leadership. 155 roles are being directly integrated into SIE and 75 roles are forming a new studio for an existing incubation project.

And 220 are canned.

That’s a total of 450 people… out of a 1300 person company. :vince:

That’s what it looks like, yeah. 17% laid off, 230 integrated into SIE and a formation of a new studio.

Why would Sony WANT Bungie leadership? The company was on its death bed and rushed to sell for additional funding.

All they’ve done since being bought by PS was cause other P1 projects to get cancelled and continue to develop new content for Xbox. :cruise:

It’s already announced for Xbox. :D

It was announced when Bungie was independent from Playstation. Now Hulst calls the shots.

Why would Sony spend millions of dollars on a company that's on its death bed?

:kaz: LMAO, Cuckstz backfire thread. They mostly fired the higher-ups and also Sony is getting a new exclusive Bungie game out of the deal with more Bungie employees integrated into Sony.

We knew this was going to happen as the clause for Sony buying Bungie was that they had the right to take over if the management fucked up, which they did.

With this new arrangement only 17% of staff was fired and the remaining staff and now fully owned by Sony. Hermen Hulst is now running Bungie.

The staff are also blaming the Bungie management for the layoffs instead of Sony :rawf:

:aitch: Bungie is ultimately better off since they are now going to be fully owned and run by Sony. Hermen Hulst now controls Bungie and chances are games like Marathon will be skipping Xbox as the now control everything Bungie releases including the new action IP that is being created by the studio.

:kaz: Cuckstz is a retard. It's all over the internet that is was mostly execs that got laid off. Majority of the working staff have been allowed to remain.

^ the meltdown :mj: he spent the last 4 hours preparing that damage control :cruise:

he also thinks the new “bungie” game will be exclusive and marathon won’t be releasing on Xbox  :deadest:

marathon is gonna suck either way, especially with 30% of the people working and overseeing it are GONE :D

:cruise: Meltdown over what? That Sony now fully owns Bungie and have laid off the incompetent management? Or the fact that they now have total exclusive rights over every future Bungie game and will now be kicking out Xbox from future Bungie games?

:drake:  I saw the news and I laughed out loud because every one saw this coming after the Bungie management laid off staff last year for greedy reasons. The whole internet is shitting on them right now for their shitty leadership that led to this.

This is the best thing that could happen to Bungie. With the shitty old management gone, they can start actually being good again. I never liked Destiny and wanted them to move in a new direction for years now :lawl:
