  1. It's the PS5's I/O that makes it's SSD punch above its weight. PC can't match that aspect yet, regardless of how fast of an SSD you put in your PC.. but that's going to be changing in the future obviously, but yea, having a ton of RAM mitigates a lot of that advantage because devs can load a lot more into RAM in the first place. For a game like Ratchet on PC, they could probably keep 2 worlds worth of data in RAM from the initial load, and then have far more time to swap the 3rd world into memory. It's less efficient, but those console SSDs are specifically meant to mitigate the
  2. I don't think it'll be longer at all. 2 seconds is about the amount of time it takes to completely swap out the PS5's ~13.5GB of usable memory. They can easily stream stuff in as they need it. And the more I watch the trailer, the more impressed I get by it. Sure, there's some slight hitches as the transitions through portals aren't exactly perfect, but I bet that by launch they have a lot of that solved. If someone is not impressed by it, it's likely they just can't appreciate what's going on behind the scenes. Absolutely NO current gen console game can do that.
  3. Oh lol. I was gonna say though, when you start the game, you get the SEGA logo and P-Studio logo... there's no indication anywhere of Sega EU, unless I'm missing something?
  4. PC and Stadia first, consoles after.
  5. It's Atlus West publishing... Who gives a shit about who ports it? It's obvious the intent here. P4G is here... P3 is all but confirmed, and after seeing their game sales on Steam, P5R will be coming. It's all but assured, I assure you Atlus even has a Steam developer homepage now. They obviously intend to bring more
  6. The Golden intro is obviously worse than the original P4, but modders will fix that Also, the Golden intro is 10x better with "Stayin Alive" as the background music
  7. Supposedly by the end of the year, but I'm doubtful. The 3800XT (and by extension the others) have been confirmed though and seemingly are the same chips just clocked 100mhz higher. So I dunno..
  8. Yep. It's surprising how low cost porting to PC is for a lot of these games.
  9. A bit higher actually (500Mbps) I have it capped though on Steam so it doesn't take all the bandwidth from anyone who might be Streaming netflix or whatever though.
  10. It would have been nice and flashy, but it wastes too much battery life. Plus you have the haptics and everything else.. They should have kept the colored symbols though I guess, if even for accessibility reasons.
  11. Yea, the rumors about it being silent pointed to a BIG device. All those vents along the entire FRONT of the console.. and I bet the backside is all vents+the ports. They expect to dispel a lot of heat through surface area alone, which would point to a low speed fan. Let's hope so anyway.
  12. Of course it will. 72CUs+improved RTcores + possibly 5nm... the enhanced consoles will absolutely focus on RT as the "upgrade factor".. I've said that since it was announced these consoles would support RT. It's not resolution, it's not CPU.... it's RT.
  13. Yea, they require some hefty cooling. So look at RTX 2070/2080... and think about the PS5... The PS5 has both the CPU AND GPU together... and the memory is extremely close to that as well.. There's no doubt they have a massive heatsink to deal with all that. Especially when clocking it at 1.8-2.2ghz...
  14. DS1 was before FROM even took PC seriously. They literally just bare bones ported the game. Durante and his mod is largely responsible for DS1 becoming a huge hit on PC, IMO... and I honestly think it's what helped FROM realize and take PC more seriously as a platform to support. And now it's literally either as big as, or even slightly bigger, than Playstation. FROM games sell... incredibly well on PC. The sequels aren't like that though. I'm not really aware of needing a powerful PC to hit 60fps in any FROM software game on PC anymore.. but maybe I'm wrong?
  15. Yea, it's sexy. I love mine. The 3080/3090 or whatever then end up being called seems like it's going to have a weird design. Not sure if I like it yet, as I'll have to see the final product, but damn the heatsink is massive, so it's probably going to weigh even slightly more lol.
  16. I bet the entire top half, everything from the USB ports on, i heatsink lol.
