Going down a Super Mario music youtube foxhole now.

I didn't even touch on the music really either. There's been some incredible music over the years too. My personal favorite has always been the Castle theme from Super Mario World.

They're building a Super Mario Land themed park with a Mario Kart attraction at Universal Tokyo.

I'd wager a bet he's one of the most recognizable figures in the world. I bet I can show the picture to 10 people and they'd all know it's Mario.

Yeah, I always feel it gets left out when it's super unique and so fun. It's in my top 10 here.

I ran out of room actually and realized I still had games to list and not enough sports remaining. My top 5 1. Super Mario World 2. Super Mario Bros. 3 3. Super Mario 64 4. Super Mario Galaxy 2 5. Super Mario Galaxy

If forced to choose, I'd say Super Mario World is the best in the series but I wouldn't fault or argue anyone who says it's SMB3.

1. Super Mario Bros. 3/Super Mario World Picking between these two would be like picking a favorite child. Both are each absolutely incredible in their own right.

2. Super Mario 64 I always remember being 7 years old and trying the demo for this at Sears. I've played this game so much I know every nook and cranny of that castle. Just an incredible experience.

3. Super Mario Galaxy/Super Mario Galaxy 2 I'm combining these two because they are similar in many ways apart from the addition in Yoshi in the sequel. (Also, I ran out of room ) However, this is just pure platforming magic in these games.

Oh shit, I just realized I messed up. Next few numbers are going to have to be combinations since I'm making this list as I go along. I could reorder it later but they are definitely top 10 Mario games.

4. Super Mario Bros. The original and my first real memory of ever playing a game. It's incredible the product they were able to release 35 years ago.

5. Super Smash Bros. Melee The game you bought a GameCube to play. Probably still the game I put the most hours into ever.

#7 Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door A better game than the original in almost every way. Clever script, great gameplay, memorable characters, and one hell of a final boss. The new Paper Mario game should adopt this style. #6 Super Mario RPG A dream collaboration between Square and Nintendo still remains the best Mario has been in an RPG.

#10 Super Mario 3D World Champion's Road might be my favorite all time Mario level. #9 Super Mario Land 2: The Six Golden Coins Not particularly challenging but the world design in this one is probably the most creative they ever produced. I constantly played this on my Game Boy. #8 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe The most recent iteration of Mario Kart is also its best. #15 Luigi's Mansion 3 The most recent game on this list and it definitely could just be recency bias, however, I loved this game. It was lengthy without overstaying its welcome. Each new floor was just fun to explore with their unique mechanics and boss fights. The puzzles were clever. It's also probably the best Mario and friends have ever looked. #25 Super Paper Mario This game offered more platforming and changed the gameplay mechanic from the turn-based system of its two predecessors. It never did quite manage to match the previous two titles it still remains a very funny and great game. #24 Mario Party 3 The best the franchise ever has been. It expanded upon the already sequel in so many great ways like adding partners and allowing 3 items. The blue lamp that allowed you move the star location was just a brutal addition and led to some fights.

#30 Mario vs. Donkey Kong The spiritual successor to 1994's Donkey Kong on Game Boy. #35 Paper Mario Sticker Star While never reaching the heights of it's previous games and a somewhat questionable choice to switch the battle system to using stickers, it still remains a well-written and fun game with some great visuals. #34 Mario Party 2 The first game in the series was a nice start but some of the mini-games literally destroyed your controllers. Honorable Mentions: NBA Street Vol. 3 I still hold this to be the greatest basketball game ever.
