jehurey 3,230
Boy, those numbers make is very clear. High-end VR completely fell off a cliff, and Facebook and HTC absolutely know it. And the lone survivor of that market is going to benefit because those developers have nowhere else to turn to. Wouldn't surprise me if there was actually a rise in VR titles for PSVR during 2019 because PC developers of VR games are realizing that they need to develop for PSVR as their top priority. Was listening to the bombcast last week and they were speculating if Sony is making a new PSVR, and if they would design it to where it was backwards compatible with games designed for PSVR1 hardware. Can't see why not, hopefully the new PSVR2 is completely new technology that is significantly better than PSVR1 in every way. VR developers in general know that they need to develop for all headsets already anyway. Pretty much any game that isn't published by Sony or Oculus is multiplat. The thing is that High end VR has just too high of a barrier to entry... and the Oculus Go proves that. Once things get easier for people to adopt, things will go better. But yea, it's obvious why Oculus isn't in a rush to announce or release a new headset. Fortunately, Facebook has the money to fund these high end experiences and will take the hit because VR is 100% their future.

Mr. House 3,371
Sony announced it sold 3m back in August this year. It's probably very close to 4m now. 5-6m by the end of next year sounds possible.
