This isn't the first time Microsoft has marketing deals with Capcom. Same for Sony. Capcom will take anything that benefits them, that doesn't mean they would be dumb enough to become a second party studio.

Also money can make people do anything.

Might even be part of their DMCV marketing deal, 'we get the demos first'. Wouldn't be the first time. Capcom becoming a second party would be a huge loss of money for them. How are they going to sell 10 million copies of Monster Hunter on just the Xbox and PC?

You don't see the brilliance of that for Microsoft? As long as its not on another console it's a dig at people who might potentially be. I mean the answer is in your question. "How are they going to sell 10 million copies of Monster Hunter on just the Xbox and PC". You'd have to buy an Xbox or own a PC. This would also be a smart move regardless, it would fix their Japanese problem in one fell swoop. They'd have like 5+ studios immediately at their disposal. Edited January 8, 2019 by DynamiteCop! So Capcom wouldn't be able to sell 10m copies of Monster Hunter and being exclusive PC/Xbox would shut them out of their own Japanese market. %70 of their software sales comes from PS4 and Switch is about to become another viable platform for them. Expecting a 30 years + company that has worldwide beloved IPs like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter among others to drop dead for the sake of being financed by MS. Their IPs alone are worth more than anything MS currently has. Capcom is worth more than all the other studios they have acquired, COMBINED.

Halo which is a 343 Industries property alone is worth two and a half times the entire value of Capcom... You overestimate the worth of these companies. Edited January 8, 2019 by DynamiteCop! Thinking Halo is still the mega franchise it used to be. 343 Industries. LMAO

lynux3 2,221
Capcom is a ~$2.6B company. They just came off their best Monster Hunter game in years and are hitting on all cylinders right now. Microsoft isn't buying Capcom.
