Yeah because the XBox business is about to explode any minute now and give them the growth they want. They're just throwing this out because they're not confident in the XCloud being viable at this stage. Plus they've clearly shown its not all about the XCloud they're willing to do native ports for the people with the hardware that can handle it.

They've literally stated nothing, you guys (idiots) keep drawing back to these rumors as some sort of solidified fact and are basing the entire projected destiny of Xbox based upon them.

How dumb can you be...

MS expects all their growth, or at least the vast majority of it's growth of the gaming division from XCloud and expanding the number of platforms they support. These are Phil Spencer's words about growth on every platform they can manage to support.

You'll get an XBox brick for the dedicated, and thats about it.

Speaking of clouds, your head is up in them.

People are making a good point about checkerboarding. If you run games at 60fps you have double the frames for image reconstruction making everything look much closer to native 4K. All current CB games aside from a few exceptions are 30fps.

So 4K 60fps checkerboard is going to be a fantastic compromise all around.

I don't think it will really make a difference in the actual image quality on a per frame basis.  Obviously there's different techniques and they bring different results, but for the most part they are still only sampling a set amount of data from the previous frame.  What it DOES do though, is reduce the ghosting artifact which exacerbates pixel crawl and aliasing.  Which in itself DOES make a huge difference to image quality in motion.  I tested it with Watch Dogs 2.
