You're trying to compare a country whose presidential elections are on a rather strict 4 year interval versus a country that has parliamentary elections, which can have elections on DIFFERENT INTERVALS, depending on whether the majority power has "confidence" and "the Sovereign" is the one who calls for the election.

 

"the Sovereign" is the Head of State...........aka New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Adern.

 

So in other words..........she calling or MOVING the date of parliamentary elections are powers the SHE SPECIFICALLY HAS and has BEEN GRANTED TO HER POSITION.

 

And you just tried to compare it to a United States President who DOES NOT HAVE ANY SUCH POWERS TO SET THE ELECTIONS FOR HIS OWN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. And him attempting to change that WOULD be fascist.
