Ike★ 2,919
https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/researchers-document-first-case-of-virus-reinfection/ “An apparently young and healthy patient had a second case of COVID-19 infection which was diagnosed 4.5 months after the first episode,” University of Hong Kong researchers said Monday in a statement. The report is of concern because it suggests that immunity to the coronavirus may last only a few months in some people. And it has implications for vaccines being developed for the virus. Hot Sauce 2,734
The patient's first confirmation was a single PCR test during a time when COVID was not prevalent in Hong Kong and he had no antibody response until this second infection, so there's a possibility the initial test was contaminated. As an example re-infection it at least suggests the possibility of re-infection being weaker. The catastrophic worry was a dengue situation with subsequent infections beyond the initial one being far more severe.

Yeah, I heard more on NPR after the initial reporting and this is actually probably a good thing since the reinfection showed no symptoms and the immune response is doing its job.
