RE8 platform sales breakdown - over 50% on PS, 25% on PC and less than 25% on Xbox.

Nope... not when the split between versions is essentially the same as RE7... which came out just shortly after Game Pass released and had very little subscribers.

They already indicated that the majority of Playstation sales were on PS5.

 

We don't know what the sales breakdown on Xbox versions is between last-gen Xbox and new Xbox.

 

But if it sold more on last-gen Xbox........the ratio is EVEN WORSE between PS5 and Xseries.

 

And chances are, it probably did sell more last-gen Xbox versions.

It doesn't matter what the sales break down is between last and current gen...

 

Xbox sales are about in line for RE8 with what they were with RE7 compared to Playstation.

 

Game Pass hasn't really done shit to change that.  The RE fanbase has always been with Playstation.

there really isn't anything to indicate that the sales ratio between sales of RE8 on next-gen consoles isn't anything other than 2:1.

 

Which looks bad when the console userbase ratio is 3:2

 

People aren't buying on next-gen Xbox.

 

This is all I'm saying, let me know when you discover anything else to indicate otherwise.

Yes it does.  It says right there that Capcom expected the PS4 version to sell the most because of larger userbase.   PS5 version ended up selling the most (so far).... It actually sold more than the Entire last gen and current gen Xbox systems COMBINED. 

 

That shows that the split for next is worse than what it was for RE7.

GamePass would be so huge, people would be wanting to play ALL GAMES (both subscription and retail purchased) on Xbox.

 

Therefore, based on your theory of GamePass being a huge success............that should've translated into higher retail sales for RE8.

Xbox games were already selling less at retail than other systems before GP.  GP just made a bad retail situation worse for Xbox. 

 

The userbase was already small to begin with... and now with GP you have a subset of that userbase who now refuses to purchase anything at retail.... so obviously the retail numbers go down. 

 

The problem is your userbase was already small to begin with... so now you have a small userbase.. separated into two smaller groups.  Obviously there will be some overlap of GP users who still purchase retail games... but not enough to balance out the others that stopped purchasing games at retail to go GP only.

They're waiting for it to come to GP.  While anecdotal GD already pointed out his friend refused to purchase RE8 and is waiting for GP.

And yet... it's still selling in line on Xbox compared to PS as RE7 did.. despite HUGE growth of Game Pass since then..

It matters because PS4 and Xbox1 support will be gone by sometime next year. 

 

and so far the gap between PS5 and Series X versions of the games are larger than it was last gen.
