I feel good enough about this game that I pre-ordered it, but im taking the reviews with a grain of salt. Sword and Shield is at 80  on MC and it’s widely considered not just one of the worst Pokémon games, but one of the worst switch games period.

So Switch already got a meaty, good game to start the year out, and nobody was expecting it.

 

Hopefully they start building on the Pokemon Legends series.

So did any of you sheep get it? Im about 4 hours in and its pretty legit. Graphics are bad (Gamefreak needs to switch to UE4 or something, their internal engine sucks) and you need a Switch Online sub to trade Pokemon which is a bit lame, but other than that it nails pretty much everything else.

My gf and her best friend are grinding the hell out of it since we are hiding from the snow, this shit looks on par with Pokémon Go and shit lol. They are having fun this so good on them. 

 

Edit: yes it's about the game play and not graphics but this is kind of ridiculous. There is no reason for the game too look this outdated. And there is zero voice over work. Nintendo takes advantage of their bases good will towards them.

GameFreak is lowest tier under Nintendo. This is their try at something different in over 20 years that isn’t the same formula. It’s going to get by solely on that alone even though it looks like an early PS3 game.

you’re being overly generous  when played on a TV, some of the textures straight up look N64 quality at times and that’s not even an exaggeration.

Well maybe Nintendo will now allocate more money and maybe some other studios to improve the graphics and game world in future games.

 

They released the game in January, with almost no marketing at all. They clearly didn't think much of this game.
