Platinum Games is all over the place in terms of quality. Astral Chains and NieR Automata were good last-gen but now we get Sol Cresta, an overpriced shmup that looks worse than most indie games of the same type and this embarrassing flop.

 

If Bayo 3 fails then it's over for them. They will never be able to recover.

No idea. All I know is that it's 40$ and looks like an arcade game from the early 90s.

I'm surprised how Platinumgames made gems like Bayonetta, MGR and Nier Automata and still manage to make dumpster fires like this. There must be something wrong internally at the studio or they have a B-team that takes cares of lesser projects like this and games for Nintendo

Blame Square Enix. The original build for Babylon's Fall was far different than this. Square Enix didn't want that game though and made Platinum scrap it completely and then rebuild it into a GaaS.
