Twinblade★ 4,213
Would like to get my mom a new laptop for mother's day. I haven't kept up with them recently but ideally i'd want something light & foldable (maybe even with a detachable touchscreen). I was looking at Surfaces but those are still unreasonably expensive. Im not looking to spend more than $800.
Twinblade★ 4,213
This is on sale and looks like a good option. Maybe even a bit overkill but the price is appealing https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-envy-2-in-1-15-6-full-hd-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-512gb-ssd-natural-silver/6535818.p?skuId=6535818
lynux3 2,461
I got my mother something similar years ago. It was a Vivobook Flip, but it was a 14”. She never uses the damn thing, lol. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-vivobook-s-flip-16-touch-laptop-wuxga-amd-ryzen-5-7530u-with-8gb-memory-512gb-ssd-midnight-black/6579911.p?skuId=6579911
JonDnD 3,032
I'd get her a tablet unless she has specific need of a laptop. My mom ditched her computer when I got her a tablet some years back. I had to be tech support for her but guess that's part of life.

Twinblade★ 4,213
Funnily enough my mom has more trouble with her phone than her current old windows laptop. So im not sure another iOS device would have been a good fit. I ended up going with the Envy. The price was a big part of that but i'd also like something that I can occasionally use to hook up to the living room TV for family gatherings. To do stuff like stream music and play web games like Geo Guesser.
Mr. Impossible 587
Pretty much any PC laptop not geared towards gaming made in the past five years if not longer.
