They're not meant to buy it. The one with the disc drive is for the whales and collectors. Average Joe is meant to get the discless console and be locked in to Microsoft's ecosystem where they own nothing and Mictosoft calls the shots.

No he didn't   He clearly had those games as PS5 only, and clearly separated from PC.   And he specifically talked about using OLD GAMES to bring PC gamers to PS5 to buy PS5 sequel

I don't mind waiting a year or 2 instead of buying a Playstation for $500-600 just to play games at 30 fps 1440p.
