These companies (publishers) are not in the same league anymore. Microsoft just owns an insane number of studios right now, and there's too much at stake to be exclusive. The bigger profit potential is with blockbuster games even more than taking a cut of digital sales. Playstation has the best and most successful console but the console business is low margin.
